"If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."

We spent a couple of hours outside with the animals today. I decided to get some pictures of chickens.
Lily Chamomile and Yarrow. Crocus and Snowdrop Lotus Chamomile and Yarrow Chamomile Yarrow That still leaves about 10 to get pictures of. Chickens are hard to get good pictures of!
We got this whopper on Saturday. It's the biggest egg I've ever seen. It filled Logan's full hand. It was only a double yolker, I thought for sure it would have 3. We've had double yolks in the past and they weren't nearly this big. I should have weighed it.
My friend Sandy had 2 baby goats born in the last 2 weeks. Logan and I went over to visit with them Sunday. They are precious! She has a little girl (the white one) named Annie, and a little boy named Chaz. I have a cute video I'll share in another post.
Actually Orion. We had friends come over earlier this week and they fell in love with Orion, as everyone does.
Marilyn and Logan had a lot of fun sitting on the garden cart with Orion between them. They spent at least 30 minutes playing with him and this bowl. Orion hit them both in the head with it a few times. It was really funny.
I love having visitors to the farm and can't wait until it is warm consistently so we can have more people out.
Preparedness Pantry is having a giveaway of a 3 day emergency kit. They are advertising it as an earthquake emergency kit, but it is a basic 3 day kit that will work for any emergency.
We've had great weather the past few days, so I decided to get some gardening work done. Logan wants to put in a butterfly garden, so I found a good spot and got to work busting up the ground.
We still don't own a tiller (we are "debating" what type to get, it isn't go well), so I had to dig the plot by hand. The ground is too hard for a shovel to break into, so I got to use my handy pick-axe. If you're going to live where there is hard clay, you MUST own a pick-axe. It took about 3 hours to get the spot broken up and I'm sore!
Here is the plot after I've dug it up. It still needs more work before it will be ready to plant, but the initial work is done.
Here is a video Logan took of me digging part of the area. It is a little shaky, but I think it gives you an idea of how hard to ground is.
We still need to get the big garden tilled. I'm hoping the neighbor can do it with the tractor, but we're expecting rain off and on for the next 2 weeks, so I think it is going to be awhile.
