And the winners are...

Sorry for the delay in posting the winners of my drawing.

Here is my handy assistant picking the winners.

Winner number 1, Christy (no, not me, the other Christy)
Winner number 2, Ramos Family

Congratulations. The new readers took this drawing. Maybe I'll try to have a drawing for long term readers sometime.

Send me your address at: christy_imnotred@yahoo.com No promises on how long it will take me to get the prizes done. I hope not too long....

Do I look like a perch?

This is Kudzu's favorite trick. She jumps on my back whenever I crouch down and perches on my neck. Sometimes on my head!

Backing up to get on my head. I can't wait until I get chicken poo in my hair!

She's queen of the chickens up here.

Buttercup hasn't tried it yet but always looks on with much interest when Kudzu does it.

4th folder, 4th picture

Angie tagged me for the 4th folder, 4th picture challenge. So, here it is. This is Logan when he was about 6 months old. We have A LOT of pictures on our computer!

I've also seen the challenge be 6th folder, 6th picture so I thought I'd share that picture too.
This is Logan when he was 3 years old at a farm feeding chickens. Even then he knew...
I'll pass this on to Amy, Jennifer, Gail, and Lisa when she feels up to it.

Progress with Yarrow

Yarrow is getting friendlier and less scared of us. He will even eat out of our hands sometimes! It isn't consistent, and unlike the girls he doesn't prefer his corn out of our hands, but he will eat it.

The girls love to eat out of our hand, and Kudzu, shown here will refuse to eat off the ground if we are around.
And they are always curious when the camera comes out.

Not bad for chickens we got as adults.

2 year blogaversary

It has been 2 years since I started this blog! It's hard to believe it has been that long, seems much shorter. Things have really changed in the 2 years I've had this blog. I've learned so many new skills and have much more confidence in my ability to care for my family in good times and bad.

So, to celebrate, I'm doing a give-away. I'll draw 2 names from all the comments I get over the next 48 hours and the lucky winners will get a crocheted ladybug and a crocheted egg. Perfect for the coming spring (it may take me that long to get them done and in the mail LOL).

Thank you again for reading my blog and making the last 2 years better!

What a difference a year makes!

I wrote this post a year ago. It is talking about how I had started this blog a year earlier to record our journey to our farm, but were no closer to moving than we were when I started the blog. Little did I know at the time that 4 months later we would be putting our house on the market and starting the long, hard wait to sell our house.

But now 2 years after starting this blog and 1 year after the referenced depressing post, we're here! Everything worked out to bring us to this wonderful place. I love it here so much, it surpasses my imaginings. The neighbors are holding a dinner in our honor tonight! I feel so welcomed and at home here. I can't wait to get goats and sheep and really start moving forward with my goals. There is so much I want to do here, I feel that I'll never be bored again!

2 year blog-versary give away tomorrow. I want to thank everyone who's stuck with me through the last year's journey to get here. If you've been here for the full 2 years, I kiss your feet, you're awesome!

More crochet

Now that the holidays are over, I can show a few more of my crochet creations.

The puppy was annoying to make, too may pieces. The ladybug on the other hand is a great little project. Quick and cute. I plan to make a bunch more of those. I was thinking of trying to sell them along with the eggs for Easter? What do you guys think?

Right now, I'm a little burned out on crochet so I got my Knifty Knitter looms back out and am making Logan a hat.
