Check it out

I decided if I'm going to raise sheep I should learn to knit. However, I am terrible at keeping the tension even so I decided to try one of those Knifty Knitter looms. It is so easy and quick! In less than 2 hours I made this:

A hat! I'm so jazzed about this. I'm working on socks now that I'm going to felt, I've never done felting either so it should be an adventure.

Congrats! Is that one of those round, loom looking things I've seen in the knitting section? Do you use neddles while using the loom? Your son is such a cutie btw, love those eyes!! :)

He looks so happy in the new hat! Those round looms are fun, and much quicker than needle knitting. Let us know how the socks turn out. I may need to try those too. ;)

Farm Mom - It is the round looms in the knitting section. You don't use needles, if you've ever done spool knitting it is like that. You use a pick to pull the stitches over the peg. The only problem with it is you have to use really thick yarn or double up the yarn, the guage is really big.

And thanks, I think he is cute too.

Deanne- I'll keep you updated on the socks.

Very cool! We learned to knit, but all I can do is a washcloth ... and I don't do that very well :). I need to get a knifty knitting loom. The only thing I want to learn to knit are socks, and if that would help :).

Love the hat ... can't wait to see the socks ;).

wow, a hat in 2 hours! nice.

just one hurrah for knitting - I knit this lovely hat for my boyfriend in one day's time. And it was my first time using the round needles AND my first time knitting a hat AND my first time using home spun wool. With all those firsts, I thought it would take me ages.

knitting can be intimidating if you don't have a mentor or someone to cheer you on.
