Meet Gannett
We were shopping at Walmart about a month ago and were loading stuff into the car. I heard a small meow. Logan and I hunted it down and found a kitten up in the engine of a nearby car. We managed to get him out of the engine and brought him home. His name is Gannett.
He is the sweetest little guy! He loves to cuddle and purrs louder than any other cat I've ever known. He's going to live in the house into the spring then the plan is for him to go out and be a barn cat.

oh man...too sweet!! and on the plan on being a barn kitty? I'll just say, he looks awfully cozy there on the couch! I think he has other ideas! LOL
He is just so cute and it looks like he loves being around you. Are you sure Gannett wants to go live in the barn? Have you asked him about this? Hahahaha

Oh, he is adorable! We just got a kitten too, they are just so much fun (even when they wake you up much too early).
I feel the same way as all the others who think he will never get to be a barn cat...He has made his way into your hearts and home...will see come spring time..He may follow you to the barn but he will be right back with you in the house...He is such a sweetie... Lisa

That's one lucky kitty...many get killed when the engine is started. You not only gave him the best home ever...but saved his life. so nice that you took the time to hunt it up.
My impression is that most of the time, when you find a cat in the engine compartment of a car or truck, the cat belongs to the owner of the car or truck. The cat likely crawled up in to the truck at home, then hid in it when it was started up, and rode to the store. It's great that you wanted to help a stray and endangered animal, but the cat's owner is probably somewhere out there wondering where the cat is. Maybe a "found" poster on the bulletin board at the Wal-Mart would be appropriate.
