Chicken pictures

We spent a couple of hours outside with the animals today. I decided to get some pictures of chickens.

Lily
Chamomile and Yarrow.
Crocus and Snowdrop
Lotus
Chamomile and Yarrow
Chamomile
Yarrow

That still leaves about 10 to get pictures of. Chickens are hard to get good pictures of!

Your chickens are beautiful! And yes, chickens are hard subjects to get a good picture! They are always moving!

Chickens always make difficult subjects. :-)

The girls look wonderful! You are so good to give them all names. I can't keep them straight so I just name mine by the flock and call them all "the girls". Of course, the boys have names but for now there is only two of them.

Cute names, its always funny to see what people name there animals, why are some of yours named after herbs? We have 40 all together and I just call them as a group "little bitties" since I have had them since they were babies.

"Here Chick, chick, chicks". Beautiful chickens. The picture with Snowdrop is one of those 'trick' pictures. Looks like she's tiny and she's sitting on Crocus' back. :)

Sandy, I often have to stop and think about who is who, but we don't have that many yet, so I can keep them straight.

We have naming schemes on this farm. All poultry are named after plants. Mammals are named after space and cats are named after mountains. It makes picking names much easier.

Gorgeous pics!!! I cant wait until mine have all their feathers! I cant wait to see what they all look like!!!!! I enjoyed seeing your birds and cant wait to see the next 10! What breeds are they all, especially the booted bantams...I have 8 of them...look JUST like yours, what are they? Now I know what they will look like grown - SO cool. I've looked online everywhere and cant find a name. Are all your birds named?

I have 2 speckled sussex, they are the brown ones. 5 Americanas, they have the tuffs next to their eyes, 2 of unknown origin, 1 buff orpington, 1 black breasted red rooster (Yarrow), and the booted bantam is a mille fleur duccle. And 1 rhode island red/white leghorn mix. They do all have names.

Okay....sooo, what are the ones you have pictured here, LOL I know the bantams which ones they are and the rooster of course but the names and breeds....that would make it easier for me...like Lily what is she etc...I have Americaunas, orpingtons, black lace wyandottes, barred phymouth rocks, rhode island reds, rock cornish and cornish cross, the same bantams as you, black sex links, and I dont know if I left any out????? LOL gotta think now if I did...isnt that terrible? LOL

Lily, Crocus and Snowdrop are all Americanas. Chamomile is the mille fleur. Lotus is a speckled sussex. If you look on my side bar, you'll see Buttercup, she is my buff orpington. Dusty Miller who is dead now was a silver spangled hamburg.
