Help has arrived!

A couple of days ago I was whining on Facebook about how no one helps me around here and I'm tired of doing everything myself.

When I was doing my morning chores today, I realized I have lots of help and just haven't appreciated it.

For example, yesterday I painted the door to the chicken coop. The goats were more than happy to lend a hand. They have the red noses to prove it! Orion even climbed the ladder so I didn't have to.

Today Sweat Pea helped me clean the stall. She was by my side the whole time, even as I went back and forth between the stall and the poopy hay pile. That is until I hit her with the rake. I'm sorry Sweat Pea, it was an accident!

And the chickens, can't forget the chickens. They help with the previously mentioned poopy hay pile. They help take the high compact pile and spread it out so it is about an inch thick over a wide area.

I realized today that many people would be thankful to have the help I have. I promise to appreciate my helpers more.

Now, I just need to figure out how to get the guineas to do the dishes.

Oh yeah you have help alright lol!
It is hard to do that stuff yourself but I bet given the choice of having that life, hard work and all or not having all of those "helpers" to care for you would not have it any other way. I know I have that conversation in my head quite often especially lately when it has been continuous rain, cold and mud to deal with.

Aren't they sweet! You had so many helpers all along. I have thought the same thing myself. I appreciate the company when I am out doing chores, it makes it a bit more enjoyable.

Ah, poor Sweet Pea. But she was trying to help. And the chickens, it looks like they are doing a good job at spreading out that poopy straw.=)

You need a dog for the dishes! Place on floor and dog licks them clean.

We call our chickens "the inspectors" because they have to follow behind all the projects to make sure it's done properly. And of course, there is always a little bit of dirt or straw or something that they need to rearrange to their satisfaction. Very very helpful!

That is funny. Here you had all that help and didn't even realize it. And I'll bet they don't even grumble about helping. LOL

I hear ya, Christy! Here's to farm super women who do it alone...and to their trusty animal side kicks. :-)

Laura, oh yeah. I wouldn't give it up for anything. But I'd love some help!

Gail, good idea! I'll have to get a couple of dogs. The cats are useless.

Every morning Barbara, blue cat, helps me feed and water the chickens and open the coops. She samples each waterer to make sure it is safe and clean.

It's amazing how large an area of leaves the chickens can turn over in a day. I should make them their own compost pile to work.
