Falling out of a tree

Logan fell out of a tree last night, the branch he was on broke. I was sitting in the living room on the computer when I heard him scream. He was 4 houses down, across the street, in a neighbors backyard. At first my husband didn't believe it was Logan, but I knew instantly. A mom knows her kid's scream. He screamed again and I went running. He was pretty shaken up and it took a few minutes to get him to tell us that he was hurt.

Turns out he is ok, just scraped up.

His neck:

That looks really nasty! Did you take him to the doctor to see if he has any cracked vertebra in his neck? I hope he isn't in any pain. Give him a big hug and kiss for me. You are right about a mother always knowing her own childs scream. How are you doing?

Ouch!
I'm really glad it wasn't as horrific as my own sons' tree fall recently. He just got his 17 stitches taken out on Sunday, and one side doesn't look so great because 4 days ago, the Dr. had taken out a couple stitches because they were worried about infection.
Looks like a mondo scar will form there now. Good thing he's a boy, eh?

There are many joys in being a Mom, but also a lot of worry and stress, too. Gah!

I hope Logan is doing better today and that his owies heal up quickly.

Owww! So glad he's ok. I've done that sprint out the door when no one else heard a thing and I know how fightening it is. I hope your heart has stopped racing and your doing ok too.

Well, at least he got a good scrape to show for his efforts. Glad he's ok! I know the screams of my kids too...terrifying

Thanks for the good wishes. Luckily, he is ok. It could have been much worse. The hard part might be getting him into a tree again. He loves climbing trees.

I'm glad he didn't break anything! Good heavens! My Emily fell out of a treehouse when she was 6 and broke her arm. Silly kids!

Those scratches look like they really hurt, poor kid.

Oh!! Poor guy! How's he doing today? How are YOU doing today??! Those screams take a few years off our life expectancy I think!

I hope he isn't too achy for long. The mother child connection is an amazing one.

the bigger the kids the bigger the problems. mom always knows when their kid screams. i am glad that it was a lucky accedent and he only has a few bumps and bruises

I agree with homemama!!! And a moms intuition is amazing isnt it....my son had a car accident yesterday, and i had a sick feeling in my stomach, i just knew....
Sorry for your son...i hate to say homemama is right, the bigger they get the bigger the problems...but its all worth it!

Ouch! Interesting that you were mentioning at Assategue how he liked to climb trees.

Okay, just today I was feeling a little sad that we have fabulous trees and none of my kids climb them. Between you and Lisa, I'm thinking maybe not.
I'm glad all he got was major scratches and not need a trip to the ER, cuz we all know how fun that is.

Poor thing! How is he feeling today? Sore?
I gave you an award over at my place.

He's much better now. It hurt for a few days but not anymore. He hasn't climbed a tree since but is talking about wanting to build a tree house after we move.
