This video was taken a few days ago. All the chicks are loose during the day now. I lock them all back up at night. They love to run around and eat grass and bugs.
Thyme, the duckling went to a new home where he'll have 3 other duckling buddies.
We took Eris and Orion for a walk last night. It was Eris first time on a leash, she did pretty good. She likes when we all run. Orion was a little bloated last night and preferred to walk. The neighbors think we are weird walking our goats up and down the road on leashes. Oh well.
Joanna - I have a lot of experience with it and have learned some tricks. If you need help, let me know. Maggie is really nice and great at answering emails if you have problems. I had a few at first but love it now.
Ron, true. Luckily there are only 4 other house on our road, so we don't have a lot of neighbors, but the ones we do have think we are crazy.
You can move to our neighborhood. We have a fella 2 doors down that walks his donkeys everyday. He has minis, regular, and even a giant. We all LOVE it. My husband wants to get an alpaca and take it for walks!
Great video! Thanks for showing us your farm animals. I don't think it is weird at all walking your goats. It's not any weirder than people with miniature dogs that put them in their purse and carry them everywhere or people with potbelly pigs that take them for a walk.
Nope...not weird...we run and play with the calves in the front yard...many rubber neckers....but the calves love it! LOL I dont see why people find it weird to see a farm animal on a leash??? We do it all the time....I think they behave better than a dog anyhow! LOL Scissor beak is growing!!! Wow! Good to catch up on you!
Claire - I hope your llamas will let you halter them. The ones we went to look at were a bear to halter! Once the halters were on they were well behaved though. Our goats just always have their collars on so it is easy. But they are always in our laps anyways, so they aren't hard to catch LOL.
My daughter and I watched your video twice. It was very calming. Your voice is quite gentle and all the barn animals were so peaceful and adorable. It was great to finally see the inside of your barn set-up as well. You've got a wonderful place there. All your farm dreams have come true. I'm so happy for you, Christy.
Oh! And I forgot to say that I think it's great that you are walking your goats and farm critters. I miss doing that with my llamas, goats and horse. I hope I'll be able to do that again before summer is over.
I bet that is a funny site watching you walk the goats on a leash. Love your farm animals. My chicks are suppose to arrive next week. I am excited. Have a nice day.
And I'm a little jealous of your cheese :). There's a vendor at my Farmer's Market who sells goat cheese. We buy feta, which is INCREDIBLE! And nothing like the stuff from the store. And I also buy a cheese they call, "herb marinated button", which is a soft cheese, marinated in olive oil and herbs (pepper and bay leaf ... and rosemary ... I think ;). It's delicious. They're working on a gouda, and I hope I can get to the market early enough this year on the day they have it to get some.
Have I mentioned lately that I think it's incredible how much you've done in just the short time you've been in GA? I love that you've made your dream a reality, and I so appreciate that you're sharing all of your adventures with *us* :).
Thanks for all the great comments! This was a wonderful day.
Leslie - I have to agree. It is fun to see how much we can freak the neighbors out.
Wendy - thank you so much! I tend to focus on what we haven't done and forget to look at what we have done. It is a lot isn't it? You have to get a milk goat one day, we love ours so much.

What a group of animals! Nice video.
This neighbor wouldn't think you are weird. :-)
I watched the milker video. For $45, I went ahead and bought the milker that you suggested. Thx, hope it comes soon.
I would love to see you walk your goats down the road. What is wrong with enjoying the company of your animals.

Love the tour on the video. Eris is just too cute! Glad Thyme got to go live with some other ducks.
Neighbors are overrated. :)

I liked your video, I love to see other people's animals and how they are kept. All your animals are just adorable.
I think that having neighbors that don't get it, make it that much more fun to keep doing it, whatever "it" is.
We get some odd looks when we walk Daisy the sheep although until she gets a trim she isn't going anywhere!

Awww....great little video Christy, thanks for sharing!! :)
It looks like a wonderful life! I finally tracked you down from your link at Live Journal. I'd trade you guys for the neighbors I've got any day.
Thanks for sharing with us. My girls really enjoyed your video.

We want to take our llamas for walks on leashes. Haven't tried it yet!

It is so wonderful around your farm. Looks like Logan and animals enjoy each others company!
Great video.
