Orion isn't feeling well

Orion isn't feeling well today. He got banded yesterday and seemed fine yesterday afternoon/evening but today he isn't feeling well. He did eat some grain and has pooped and peed today. He doesn't have a fever, he just has no energy at all.

So, like a good goat mom, I'm letting him spend the day on the couch.

The cat checked in for awhile to see what was wrong with him.
The vet is coming tomorrow to take care of Andromeda's feet, she won't put any weight on one of them. So if Orion still doesn't feel good tomorrow I'll get the vet to look at him.

Aw, poor little fella, he looks pitiful. What a sweet mama you are to let him hang on the couch :)

He woke up and wanted to go outside. He ate some and is now resting outside. He is so sweet.

Cute. He is probably feeling sore from the banding. With our cows, it always seems to slow them down a bit a day or two.

Hope he feels better soon.

I think that is normal after banding.
Orion looks so cute laying there.
He should be back to normal tomorrow.
I know he isn't spoiled at all!
Have a good day.

He's probably just a bit depressed since he knows what that banding is going to do to his...manliness.

What a cutie! So sweet that you let him stay in the house. Do they have some sort of housetraining?

I would be afraid that our bottle baby would claim the couch in a very smelly way, but man does he want to come inside all the time. Good Luck Orion!

Christy - We don't let him in the house usually! And he isn't house broken. We got a few goat berries on the floor today, but nothing on the couch luckily!

Pam - I hope it is the banding. He is spoiled!

Sorry to hear he's not feeling well. Maybe he'll bounce back fast. Keep us posted.

I should have had the two pygmy billies banded that I have, when I first got them, but I am a bit of a pushover and didn't, cause it is so painful. Now I have pee faced smelly goat boys...ugh. They are still sweet, but they will get bathes for sure. I know Orion will be a better animals for your bravery of banding him. Want to come band my goats??? LOL. That is so sweet of you to let him rest on the couch in the cool of the house like that. I know he enjoyed it, even if he was hurting some. You made it all as bearable as possible for him, your a good mom. :) Hugs, Kelly

Aw, the poor little pumpkin. I know I always feel better when I get all cozy on the couch, so I'm sure he'll be back to his enthusiastic self very shortly!
