Logan's horse adventure

Since the letter of the day is H for horse, I thought I'd post pictures of Logan's first time riding a horse.

It happened during our 2 weeks of homelessness. My step-mom owns a horse named Abby. Logan has been helping feed Abby for a few months and seems to really like her, so my dad asked Logan if he wanted to ride her. As some of you may remember, horses freak me out, but I didn't say anything and encouraged him to try if he wanted.

He did, so he did. Here he is his first time on Abby, he is clearly a bit nervous.

My dad took her out front and let her just eat the grass while Logan sat on her. That made him feel a lot more confortable.

Look at that show off!

Here is my dad with Logan and Abby in front of his house.

After sitting on her for a bit, he was much more comfortable being on her when she was moving.

He rode her again another day, my dad led them on a pretty long walk the second time. Logan really liked it! He wants to learn to ride a horse, we are talking about joining the 4-H horse club or trying to find a place that offers lessons.

And now you have a place for a horse to live! How lucky are you?!

Those pics are cute. My kids want to learn to ride a horse.

Christy!!!

Logan looks like a natural!
I remember the first time I rode my horse bareback. I'm sure I looked just like that first picture of Logan on Abby! lol!

But riding bareback is the very best way to learn to balance on a horse, develop a good seat while riding, and to move with your horse's steps and strides.

Logan's on his way to good horsemanship already!!

I'm seeing a adorable pony in your future, Christy...living right there on your lovely farm being spoiled by Logan and you with carrots, apples and cookies. Awww!

And thanks for blog linky, too. Your post is just a perfect accompanyment (sp?) for my letter "H" Horse post :)

As usual, I'm just so excited for you and your family watching your dreams coming true, my friend.

He looks so small on that big horse. How great for him to like riding.

Abby is so beautiful, but nothing near as beautiful as a childs smile like Logan has on his face! A horse can be your best friend, and as I always say..the cheapest therapist you can find! LOL They will keep all your secrets! 4-H is a great place to start! Good luck!

I love the pictures. I imagine Logan will have his own horse soon??
Have a great day.

Have you talked to your neighbor yet about Logan riding one of his horses? You might even be able to buy a horse from him! :)

Congrats on being brave and not passing on your fear of horses---a hard thing to do.
Logan looks great.

I don't want a horse!! LOL. It may end up happening someday, but I'm in no hurry. One of our neighbor has 4 horses and says he will teach Logan to ride when it gets warm. I hope he does.

Ceecee - it is hard to not pass fears onto your kids. I try really hard not to though.
