Wow! That's a whopper. My dear Rosie, now departed, the beakless wonder chicken, once laid a 3.2 oz (90.7 g) egg. I don't know how she did it, but it tasted good! She was from our local animal shelter and had been found wandering around downtown. She was brutally debeaked, about 3/4 of her beak removed on both top and bottom. But she was a loving chicken and always followed me around. I liked to think that her huge eggs were her way of saying thank you.

It's like they skip a day or two and out comes the egg of all eggs! WOWZA! Next time one of our girls lays a big egg, I'll have to weigh it. Only our Leghorn does lay big eggs.

I'm surprised she didn't make a really...really...loud announcement when she laid that egg! Poor muffin. She's probably walkin' funny this morning. ;)

Hey I just found your blog I did a post with a photo of an enormous egg from my peking duck a day or so ago. It was 4 inches long!

One more farm blog to feed my addiction.

Great posts!
