We walked out of the garage this afternoon and look at what we saw! That is my car in the picture. Our other neighbor had moved his cows to the pasture right by our house. The cows were just feet from our driveway. It was so cool to walk about and see them all standing there.

Even cooler was how the cows that weren't right by our driveway came running over to say hi. Actually I think they wanted food, but it is more fun to think they wanted to say hi.

I loved this brown cow with the shaggy white face.

Logan really wanted me to take a picture of him with the cows.

So, we have cows on both sides of us, it is so exciting! I still can't believe this is really where I live now. It feels like a vacation that I'm going to have to go home from soon.

Looks like your neighbor is breeding Black Angus with Herefords(the white faced red one). This is supposed to make a better meat.
Wonderful pictures.
I am so glad you are enjoying your new home.

Okay I would be nameing them like they were pets. Cows have great eyes. Looks like you are in a great place.

You might talk to the farmer and see if it would be ok to keep a bucket of apples nearby so you could feed them now and then. We used to do that some...it's a blast for kids!

Gail - some of them are all white, some all black and the white faced one is the only one like that.

Anne - It is tempting but there are so many I'd never be able to tell them apart. I think he said he has 150 head.

Mom - I'm sure they will.

Warren - Good idea! I'll ask him next time I see him.

Maybe you should consider getting Logan a couple cows of is own instead of sheep? :-)
I love warren's idea...

Warren - I talked to the owner of the cows and he said they like stale bread. We seem to always have that around so we can give them treats. Logan is excited about it!

Deb - We're very happy and can't wait to get critters! You will all be the first to know.

I'm so tickled for you, Christy :)

Ya know, when we first moved out here to the country, I was happy just living near animals, seeing the cows and horses, and hearing donkeys braying in the distance, peacocks hooting from the trees at dusk, roosters crowing all day, and cows mooing in the fields.

It is truly something special being surrounded by all the animals...as you've come to realize :)

Did I mention before that I'm so very happy for you?
